Significant Academic Events:

He went to the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign as well as Santa Clara University and Ellwood P. Cubberly High School. He got his bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science form Santa Clara University as well as a master's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Eich was also given the Ecma Fellow award for his creation of JavaScript.

Contributions to Computer Science:

He created JavaScript, which is one of the most popular programming languages used to create dynamic content in applications such as Minecraft. Most browsers have a JavaScript engine to execute code. He started working at Netscape Communications Corporation in April 1995, where he worked on JavaScript. Later he helped found mozilla.org and then helped create the Mozilla Foundation. Mozilla was made with the intent of fueling incredible levels of revolution in the browser market. In 2005, he became the CTO of the new Mozilla Corporation and in 2014, he became the CEO. The Mozilla Foundation exists to support Mozilla while the corporation is a subsidiary of the foundation and integrates applications such as the Firefox web browser.
